"Did I wake you up?" he asks.

I nod slightly and look down at my lap. I can feel tears forming in my eyes, threatening to spill over. But I manage to keep them at bay.

"It wasn't that bad though," I say weakly.

He frowns, placing his hand underneath my chin and lifting my head up so that I'm forced to meet his gaze.

"It's okay to cry," he assures me. "And you don't have to hold back. You can tell me what's wrong."

I lower my gaze, refusing to meet his gaze.

"Everything."

Axel's expression softens.

"Everything?" he repeats quietly.
