Watching my father jerk wildly on the bed he was lying on filled my heart with sadness and despair. Tears filled my eyes as I realized how completely powerless I was and how much I wanted to ease his suffering and make things better.

I felt a wave of sadness come over me, and I couldn't help but feel incredibly sorry for him.
