“Mia, have some kind words. She is your sister,” Mom said firmly, her voice tired but sharp.

Mia only scoffed and turned away, walking toward her room while murmuring under her breath, “Lucian can never be yours. Leave it… or get it.”

Mom gently patted my hair as I sat beside her on the couch. “Don’t cry, Lily. You can definitely find someone better.”

I shook my head hard, fresh tears falling. “No, Mom, you don’t understand. I love Lucian. I don’t think I can love any other guy the way I love him. He loved me when everybody bullied and attacked me, Mom.”
