By evening, I'd managed to actually get some work done, responding to customer emails and finalizing details with Nina about the fashion show.

The show was in three weeks and I needed to stay focused on that, needed to remember that I had a business to run regardless of family drama.

I was reviewing the final production schedule when my phone buzzed with a text.
