I slide into the backseat of the black SUV, my fingers drumming against my purse as I glance at the man sitting beside me. He’s wearing a hoodie, face partially hidden, but I can feel the smugness radiating off him. He doesn’t speak right away. Instead, he reaches into his jacket and pulls out a silk scarf.
