Lilith softly extended her hand and lightly placed it on Adeline's arm. She turned to her with a warm expression of gratitude and spoke, “I honestly want to thank you for supporting me during this trying time in my life.”

I observed how the two exchanged a glance that seemed to hold a deep understanding between them, a connection that had been built on trust and loyalty over time. Feeling the need to give them some space, I took a step back and gently let go of Lilith’s hand.
