The room was silent except for the faint buzz of the air conditioning. It was the only thing that seemed to regulate the temperature in here.
I could still hear Pedro’s footsteps echoing down the hallway, growing distant, I even assumed he was out of the house or somewhere around the door.
Good. Let him leave. Let him go and put on his perfect act for the world while I stayed here, solitude was the next best thing after peace of mind.
