“You heard me. Where is my son? And where are you hiding Riley Brodcraz?” I demand.

“Your Majesty, I think you have the wrong idea,” the envoy says. “We’re not here about your son. We have no idea where he is. Why, I just heard about his kidnapping when we arrived. I’m sorry, Your Majesty, I can’t help you.”

The envoy leader isn’t even a very good liar, but he has the shield of diplomacy around him, so I decide to bide my time.
