Sipping my whiskey, I stare at the two women on the dance floor.

They are swinging and laughing with a glass in hand, clearly enjoying themselves. Jace and I have managed to distract Meg from her fear of losing her mate. She can't possibly feel the mate bond yet but now that the Alpha has approached her, she doesn't want to lose him.

Quite understandable, as each werewolf only gets one mate, so it is best to keep him. In exceptional cases, the Moon Goddess grants a second chance mate, but it is uncertain and it can take much longer to meet one. Werewolves don't cope...
