James didn’t immediately go to work. Instead, he decided to do some work outside. Checking the crime scene, talking to a few witnesses and suspects. James just didn’t want to see anyone yet.
When it was time to meet Neil, he drove to the café and sat at a table near the window. The sun had warmed up the place, but its warmth still made James shiver. It didn’t seem to warm him up enough.
“You don’t look good.”
