“I’m waiting for the bus. As for you... How should I know why you are here?” Nyx answered him still with a voice that sounded cold.

It wasn't the usual teasing tone he had yet to get used to, or the soft one that left him baffled. It was the first time James heard Nyx talking to him with such tone, and he didn't like it at all. It made him feel stuffy and uncomfortable, as if he had done something wrong.

James lowered his head, suddenly asking her: “Are you angry at me?”

Amber eyes widened, and now it was Nyx’s turn to gawk at James....
