My eyes flutter open immediately, half awake, half conscious.

For a heartbeat, everything is dark…. shadows dancing across the ceiling, moonlight spilling faintly through the rain-smeared glass.

The air feels heavy, thick with something I can’t name.

Then I feel it again.

A firm, deliberate touch against my skin.

My body reacts before my mind does….a sharp gasp escaping my lips. The sound fills the quiet room, breaking the fragile stillness.

“Wha….?” The word never forms.

I can’t see anyone, not yet, but the sheets shift beside me, the mattress dips slightly under a weight that isn’t mine.
