“You wouldn't have dared,” Layla finished for him, and then felt sorry at the hurting look that came into his eyes.

"Oh, Roy, don't worry about it," Layla said. "It wasn't your fault. I expect they all thought it would be a huge joke to get you drunk and then egg you on. But at least they owned up, so it gives you another chance, unless the captain changes his mind, of course," she said gloomily.

"He won't," Roy said positively. "The captain is always fair.”
