“That doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy a drink,” he said, opening the bottle with a quick twist and pouring the wine into both glasses. He held one out to her, but she made no move to take it, her gaze fixed on him, cold and unwavering.
“I’m allergic,” she lied, masking her real reason. With a baby on the way, she couldn’t touch a drop of alcohol.
“Nonsense,” Elliot murmured with a gleeful smirk. “I’ve seen you down enough of this to know better.”
