Alex  was lost in his own admiration for her, so much so that he didn’t realize Beth was now staring at him too.

He cleared his throat abruptly before getting back on his feet, “I have to leave now. I need to attend to something, enjoy the rest of your day in the garden."

Alex excused himself to save the situation at hand before he will do the unimaginable.
