I didn’t know how to feel. I had been sitting here for the past hour contemplating what my next move would be. I hated the guy but last night, feeling his sorrow reminded me that he was too in pain. Of course the pain that he was in was well earned and deserved but I was no monster like him and so I pitied him.

He had kidnapped me, raped and tortured me, killed my only family left and forced my tribe to join him and slaughtered the ones who had escaped him. Deep down in my heart, I would always only have true hatred for him, only...
