Wallace approaches the family home. The song "Talking in your sleep" by The Romantics sets the mood in the living room. Isabel is sweeping the floor and is delighted to see her son approaching.

"Son! How are you, my champion?"

Mother and son embrace.

"Mom, I don't want to interrupt your sweeping." Wallace frowns as he stays.

Isabel, however, sits down on the couch. "Well, you enjoy it and give your old mother a rest. Your father and brother went to the bakery before it closes."

Wallace sits down next to her. "Mother, I was informed yesterday by Vera that you have been visiting her to strengthen your friendship."
