Selena's POV:

In the car, I turned my phone off.

Laien looked at me and smiled, " Leaving with me like that, aren't you afraid Carter will be worried if he can't find you?"

I smiled bitterly, "He's more interested in seeing another woman right now."

"Another woman?"

I didn't say anything else, just looked out the car window, but not long after, I saw a familiar car in the rearview mirror. It was Carter's car. I turned my head to look at Laien, "Dr. Laien, please drive as fast as you can."

Laien accelerated his speed.

As we passed the intersection, Carter's car forced Laien's car to a stop...
