“Are you ready?” she asked Liam, pulling him to his feet.

He laughed. "I guess I am now." Then he seemed to remind himself of what happened, and his smile quickly faded as they got in the serving line just outside the kitchen.

“So, are you having fun?” Roxanne asked as they stepped up in line.

Liam nodded. “Yes, I am. It’s good to see Caden and Taren again.”

Roxanne nodded, taking another step up. She noticed that Liam only spoke to her when she spoke to him first, but she wasn’t going to let it ruin her day.
