"Jesus Christ," I hissed, grabbing her ankle. "Your mother is right upstairs."
"I know." But she didn't pull away. "Does that make it hotter?"
"It makes it insane."
"That's not a no."
The shower shut off upstairs.
I released her ankle. She withdrew her foot. We both shifted to look casual and normal as Rachel came downstairs a few minutes later.
"Morning!" She was bright and cheerful. Kissed my cheek. Smiled at Ava. "What's everyone up to today?"
"Work," I said.
"School stuff," Ava added.
"Boring. Well, I have errands to run. Will you two be okay on your own?"
"We'll survive," I said.
