Tired, I stared at the clock and jumped in shock. It was already 4 p.m. How could I have slept so long? Yesterday we had stayed awake until almost 4 a.m., I had seen that on the alarm clock, and my body must have simply needed the sleep it had missed.

Not much had happened after we left this room yesterday. We had gone upstairs through some staircase and ended up in a bedroom, where I had fallen into bed, completely exhausted. Eryon had only said a quick "good night" to me, but we hadn't slept cuddled up together, at least I hadn't noticed.
