Lost in contemplation under the moonlight, I was startled by the sound of approaching footsteps pounding on the ground.

“Alpha! Luna! We have a problem!” one of the pack warriors shouted urgently as they ran towards us.

“What is it? What’s happening?” I asked, sensing that something was amiss.

He took a few deep breaths before speaking, his fear etched on his features. “The enemies…” he gasped. “They’re here.”

This was the moment we had been preparing for, but the reality of it all shook me to the core. I looked to Damien, who was on his feet, ready to lead the pack into battle.
