“He tried to save her,” Gamma Ralph explained. “The Alpha King tried, but it was a struggle. We attempted to capture him, but he burned Lucian.”

I frowned in confusion. How could they struggle? How did they not manage to defeat their enemy?

“It’s because the opponent is too powerful,” he explained, as if he could sense my inner questions. Perhaps it was my expression, but it didn’t matter at all.

“So, who is it?” I asked.

“It’s the Vampire King… He’s a traitor.”

Amelia and Henry, who were standing behind, caught my eye. They looked me in the eyes and nodded.
