     Liam nodded, what Carter was saying was true, but there was something about Carter’s tone that rubbed against Liam in an unpleasant way. Carter was up to something and Liam knew whatever it was would end up being a big pile of steaming shit for him to deal with. Carter was a master at dumping his friends in it and then standing back to watch the show.

     Carter smiled and for a flash, Liam saw the vampire brother from that ridiculous vampire show who so many people thought was Carter’s doppelgänger. Stefan or Steven or something....
