"Elena, I already told you that I can't love you," James started before she could even open her mouth. His voice was flat and emotionless.

"I thought I made that clear the last time we talked. You're wasting your time, Elena. You should stop. You'd only hurt yourself trying to chase shadows."

Elena looked at him confused. He thought she was here to beg him, for what? To take her back?
