As Xavion mentioned it now, it dawned on me that I really forgot to laugh wholeheartedly after my dad’s demise. His unfortunate death was the point when I lost my protector.

He saved me from all the troubles like a powerful shield against calamities. But now, I had to deal with the true face of the world after him.

As my old man’s memory moistened my eyes, I stopped laughing and wiped them, speaking shakily.

“Yeah, it’s been so long.”

Xavion stepped closer as his painted face softened beneath the makeup.
