I turned to Nolan, blinking fast. “You must be joking with me.”

He smiled, soft and serious. “I can never joke with your emotions, love.” His voice was gentle, like a whisper meant for only me. “This is for you. I don’t want you to stress yourself too much, so I got this place. It’s yours, legally. In your name.”
