“Do you want me to do something for you?” I asked quietly, leaning against the edge of the door.

Lilith turned toward me, eyes glistening but unreadable. “No,” she said softly. “I just want you to stay with me. Do you have a problem with that?”

I blinked. “No. I don’t have a problem staying with you.” My voice dropped. “I’ll stay with you all day, all night, if that’s what you want.”

She gave me a small nod. “Okay.”
