The night was cold and harsh, as my feet took me along the unfamiliar path. I could feel the blood pounding in my ears, and my heart rising in my throat, as I moved on.
Every nerve in my body was alive, and despite the cold, my palms were still slippery with sweat. I kept looking back, continuously to see if no one was following.
“If Xander catches me, he'll get really mad. These days, he's been scary.”
