  The total darkness had persisted for two days now. I looked into Nyla's crib, gently rocking back and forth. We had named her Nyla, which meant 'Achiever', or 'Successful one'. 

  Amidst all the tribulations we had gone through, she was still able to come into this world unhurt. We knew there were more unknown battles ahead, considering the fact that her birth had obviously caused this darkness. 

  We didn't know where exactly the threat was coming from, or what this phase meant. But we were more than ready to fight till death for our pup.
