Brianna's POV

I was watching her intently. Mom is washing the dishes. She insisted on doing that even when I fiercely refused. Rogue offered help too but she just smiled and declined.

I'm sitting on the dining chair with crossed legs and arms. From my spot, I can clearly see Rogue and Brent talking in the living area. The little girl, which I learned the name was Essy is with them, she's watching the television and she looked very amazed. So innocent. Meanwhile, Diane is currently in the guestroom.

"Do you mind if I ask something?"

I was disturbed by mom, settling on the chair next to me.
