Brenda's words were still echoing in my head because I was acting irrationally in order to save my mother.

 

Will she be satisfied with being saved from the black market...or what if it didn't work and only made her condition worse?

 

I then thought about how old and tired she was, how she couldn't even look at me anymore, how she was an empty shell that and it was basically not even my mother there anymore just a bunch of bones, and it was then that I saw two actual bags of bones that should have died a long time ago.

 

They had gathered at my mother's bedside.
