I snapped my attention from Cathy as a voice rose behind. I recognized the voice right away. It was Jacob. I won't forget him, of course.

He was so fast. It didn't take a long time for him to arrive here. Yet, I didn't want to bother about him or about anything in this world except Cathy. She had been making herself sick for crying too much.

Jacob ran to the body and knelt before it as tears ran down his cheeks silently. "I wasn't able to protect you, Your Majesty. Please, forgive me."
