CHAPTER 4
NOAH
I was just putting away the rags when I heard his voice behind me.
“Noah.”
I turned, heartbeat jumping.
Silas stood there, wiping his hands with slow movements. His shirt was half unbuttoned, collar loose. Grease on his forearms. That look in his eyes.
Dangerous.
“Y-Yeah?” I asked.
“Come help me get something in the storage room.”
Storage room.
My mouth went dry. “Okay.”
I followed him, legs still a little wobbly from yesterday. My mind was racing — was he mad again? Was he gonna say something about that guy earlier?
The second I stepped into the storage room, I knew.
Boxes stacked to the ceiling....
