I was relieved that he understood me and didn't try to persuade me otherwise. If he had, it would have put me in an uncomfortable position, making it harder for me to process my emotions. His persistence could have even led to me resenting him. causing me to harbor negative feelings towards him. By respecting my boundaries and giving me space, he avoided creating unnecessary tension.
