The bar was called Greystone. I had never been there before. It was small and quiet and nobody knew my name which was probably why I had walked in at eight thirty on a Tuesday and sat at the counter and started drinking without a plan to stop.
The bartender was a young woman with a patient face who refilled my glass without asking too many questions. I appreciated that and I ordered another drink.
