Riley’s POV

They came back one by one.

I was the first back inside, cheeks still warm from the balcony, Ethan right behind me. We walked back into the sitting room separately and sat down in different spots like we had just gone for air and nothing else had happened out there.

Nina and Amy appeared a few minutes later from the sitting room hallway. Amy sat on the far end of the couch. Nina took the floor cushion beside her. Neither of them were talking but there was something different between them, something quieter and closer that hadn't been there before the break.
