He kissed her back without hesitation.

His hands came off the wall and found her waist and pulled her against him and she felt the warmth of him immediately — broad chest, solid, the kind of body that matched the way he took up space in a room. She grabbed the lapels of his jacket and kissed him properly and felt him respond, the kiss deepening, his hands sliding from her waist to her back pulling her closer.

He was a good kisser. Unhurried. Present. His mouth moved against hers like he was paying attention to what she gave him and responding to it rather than just doing...
