Chapter 2
He kissed her again and walked her backward through the empty office — past the desks and the dark screens and the abandoned Friday coffee cups — until her back met the glass of the floor to ceiling windows and she felt the cool of it against her shoulder blades and the city spread out behind her forty stories below.
He looked at her against the glass. At the city behind her and her bare feet on the office floor and her dark eyes on his face.
"Here?" he said.
"Nobody's coming," she said. "It's Friday night."
He looked at her for one more second.
