The kiss didn't stay soft for long.
Roman's hand at the back of Jax's neck pulled him closer and Jax went willingly, his hand finding Roman's jaw, tilting his face up, and the kiss deepened into something that had nothing polite left in it. Two years of carefully aimed words dissolving into something that had apparently always been underneath them waiting.
Roman pulled back just enough to look at him. His eyes were dark and his jaw was slightly tight and he looked at Jax the way he played guitar — like he was working something out and getting close to the answer.
