The rehearsal dinner was Marcus's mother's production too.

Long table, good wine, too many candles, a speech prepared that she had been practicing since the engagement was announced. Nora sat beside Marcus and smiled and held his hand when he reached for hers and was present in every way a fiancée should be present at her own rehearsal dinner.
