Kaida looked up from her laptop, her expression unreadable.
"I'm working."
I forced my voice to soften even though something inside me was already tightening. "Why? Didn't you hear what the doctor said? He said you needed a lot of rest."
She barely reacted. "I feel perfectly fine. You don't have to worry about me."
My jaw flexed.
