The boys went back to their seats in silence. However, the mood was now lighter, and as the eight of us continued eating, small talk began to flow through the room. The boys joked, laughed, and enthusiastically retold stories of their past with Jayden. Jayden, despite still not being able to remember anything, seemed more cheerful than usual. I was relieved and surprised to see him no longer looking glum when reminded of his amnesia. Hunter and Jamie, especially, did their job very well to keep the conversation flowing and light, so there were no awkward silences or tense moments.
