I swallowed hard, and a shudder spread all over my system as I recalled the horrible pain in the pit of my stomach when Clark had called to tell me about Jayden's accident. If that idiot had died that night, I would never have forgiven myself, partly because I felt a little responsible for making him as angry as I felt. Knowing him, I should have been more careful, but then again, I was the angriest person ever in my entire life. And to make matters worse, I could not even tell him the real reason for his accident.
