In a blink of an eye, I was pinned against the wall, Richard's angry glare burning into me.

"What did you just say?" he growled, his voice low and menacing.

I scoffed, trying to project confidence, but I knew better than to push him further. Richard's strength far surpassed mine, and I couldn't afford to reveal my vulnerability.
