Two women, masks on, dressed elegantly, pushed past a patient with a cane and rushed into the elevator. They didn’t even wait for him, furiously pressing the close-door button.
A little girl spoke up: “Auntie, the man outside hasn’t gotten in yet.”
Mrs. Newton glared. “Mind your business. We’re in a hurry.” She blocked the door, leaving no chance for the man to enter.
The elevator doors slowly closed. The girl muttered in annoyance but was gently reminded by the woman behind her, “Aloe, forget it. Don’t forget to bring medicine to grandpa.”
