"How did you end up here?" Ross asked, his eyes wide with surprise and concern.

I hesitated, not wanting to reveal Penny's involvement or what she had done to me. I didn't want to use their influence on Penny, knowing Penny would surely find her way to revenge.

"I was just... um... walking and I tripped on something," I said, trying to sound nonchalant.
