The room shimmered with red and gold lights, mirrored reflections, and a mix of laughter and chatter. Groups of men and women mingled—some singing, some dancing, some drinking and joking around.

Class president Daniel stayed in the shadows, head bowed, lost in thought.

Suddenly, he lifted his glass and stepped out of the darkness. The faint hesitation in his eyes vanished, replaced by unwavering determination.

His gaze swept across four classmates, and the three of them immediately stood.

“I’m heading to the bathroom.”

“Me too.”

“I’m stepping out for a smoke.”

“Let’s go together.”

The four paired up and followed Daniel out of the room....
