The ride back to the estate was quiet, and guilt gnawed at me. I couldn’t believe we fought just after taking our relationship to the next level.

I messed up. I’ll explain everything to Laura. I didn’t even cheat on her, so why am I complicating things for myself?

As soon as I parked the car in front of the mansion, she stormed off without waiting for me.

"Baby," I called out, cursing under my breath. I hurried after her but froze on the spot.

"Darling, I’ve missed you so much," the voice I dreaded echoed behind me. She walked up and kissed me like she always had....
