"I'm someone's son too, love," he replied, and I smiled.

"What's with you and these sweet names? The last time I checked, you hated me," I remarked, arms folded and eyebrows raised.

"I was protecting myself from actually letting my feelings for you control me," he answered, kissing my temple.

"So you never hated me?" I inquired, playing with my fingers.
